About Beauty/Truth Press
Beauty/Truth Press was created in 2006 with Beauty/Truth: A Journal of Ekphrastic Poetry as its first and only publication.  The journal was developed as a genre specific publication that only prints ekphrastic poetry (poetry written in response to visual art).  Ekphrastic poetry is a grossly underappreciated mode of poetry that deserves its place alongside more widely known poetic modes.  The main goal of Beauty/Truth Press is to create greater awareness and appreciation for ekphrasis, and also to create added opportunities for established and emerging writers who are interested in ekphrastic poetry.  Beauty/Truth Press has recently expanded its scope and is engaging in many additional projects, but its true calling remains in ekphrastic poetry.

About Canvas Press (An Imprint)
Canvas Press was spawned in 2007 to pursue projects outside of the normal editorial channels at Beauty/Truth Press.  Whereas there is a professional editorial disconnect from Beauty/Truth Press publications, most Canvas Press publications are more hands-on.  The editors often have a vested interest in this projects; Canvas Press is the arena in which the editors don't feel bad about playing favorites.  Canvas Press publications are not open to unsolicited submissions, they are received through recommendations or by diverting selected submissions from Beauty/Truth Press into Canvas Press projects.  Because it primarily houses pet-projects, Canvas Press publications often have smaller print quantities.
