Biography
James Gapinski is a Wisconsin writer. His works have been published in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Recent publication credits include Down in the Dirt, The Muse, Quantum Leap, Three Cup Morning, Words-Myth, Qarrtsiluni, 55 Words, Flutter, and Unlocking the Mysteries.
James' chapbook, Affectionately Dysfunctional: (Short) Short Stories, is currently available from Scars Publications. James also co-wrote the script for In Spades, a short film by Avant Guardian Films.
To pay the bills, James works as a writing tutor for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He also tutors over the Internet for the University of Wisconsin-Colleges Online Writing Lab [OWL].
In 2005 and 2006 he conducted research on ekphrastic poetry at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha. James is currently continuing his research courtesy of a grant received from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Though his true passions are in literature, James regularly augments his interest in ekphrasis by working with acrylic paints and photography.
